BTRC unveiled five state-of-the-art crime tracking vehicles in the city on Thursday, with technology to trace the positions of stolen cars and to monitor mobile phone crimes and illegal VoIP operations.
"The government is doing everything possible to strengthen the telecommunications sector," telecoms minister Raziuddin Ahmed Razu said during the unveiling ceremony at the BTRC headquarters.
"Many steps for improving the sector are being taken to realize the vision of a Digital Bangladesh," he said.
The minister, accompanied by chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, Zia Ahmed, earlier visited different BTRC offices in the city.
